Art Director

Art Director with good concepting skills to work on exciting new project.

Responsibilities:
Set a vision and lead a team to achieve it
Champion exceptionally high but achievable production values
Direct and inspire an art team in the creation of a unified vision
In coordination with the Producer and Group Management team ensure game ready assets adhere to the product vision
Along with the Art Leads and producer ensure the timely delivery of art assets
Review levels, scenes, animation, lighting, effects etc. for quality and maximum impact
Provide creative input, direction and mentoring / support to Art and Animation Leads and Artists
Communicate and co-ordinate with the Lead Programmer and Lead Designer to collaborate in a productive and cohesive way that benefits the whole project
Report back to the Producer on progress and raise any other issues that may need to be addressed
Facilitate communication and focus with the artists
Coordinate with internal technology groups on requirements to deliver the products art requirements
Contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development
Manage and communicate with external art teams
Collaborate effectively with Marketing and PR teams to create and deliver high quality art assets in support of the game. Feedback on direction of outward facing assets.
Provide support for Studio Art Manager and contribute to the development of the Studio Art Team

Required Skills:
Good Artistic skills including knowledge of Colour, light, form and function.
Ability to create Concept Art.
Interest in Storytelling and Gameplay
An in-depth understanding and/or knowledge of game development software and techniques
Solid understanding of technology and pipelines
Demonstrated ability to be proactive and self motivated, work without direct supervision, and present the work of the team and the project in a professional manner.
Capable of balancing a projects creative and visual requirements within schedule and staff limitations.
Demonstrated ability to integrate the creative and technical design processes while ensuring that high production values are never compromised.
Balance impacts of deadlines and resources against quality requirements of a title and quality of life for staff
Knowledge of the potential impact of production-phase change requests on quality, stability and schedule.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized and self-motivated
