Assistant Producer, Japanese Localisation

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with Japanese language skills to work in the games industry. The Assistant Producer will help to project manage our Japanese studio titles with support from producers within the team and ensure that the Company delivers quality product to its consumer base on time and on budget.

They will use their language skills to communicate and build relationships with key stake holders in Japan and the UK.

This opportunity will be on a fixed term contract and will be based in SEGA Europe's head office in West London.





Key Responsibilities

o Work closely with in-house developers from the pre-production to release phases on any project related issues

o Work closely with other departments (e.g., Marketing, Sales) on any project related topics

o Administer Prototypes/Products review

o With Producer support, prepare documentation for SEGA's internal Inline Process and demonstrate title's under your responsibility to the management team

o With Producer support, create the initial localisation schedule and manage throughout its production cycle

o With Producer support, drive localised games through the Functional/Standard/Localisation QA cycle

o When there is a conflict, discuss the bug with the developers and QA and proactively seek solutions

o Work to ensure SEGA's titles meet the highest Company and local 1st Party standards

o Check legal/licensing specifications

o Resolve any title related issues and escalate when necessary.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

o High proficiency of spelling and grammar in both English and Japanese
o Strong project management skills
o Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
o High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
o Pro-activeness to think ahead and identify tasks that need to be carried out and the motivation to complete these on own initiative
o Ability to plan and carry out work when regularly unsupervised
o Confident and professional in dealing with senior members of the company
o Excellent ability in the use Word, Excel and Outlook
o Keen gamer with a passion for making games
o Excellent presentation skills.

o Highly advantageous:

o Experience in a hands-on producer-type role within the games industry
o Knowledge of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo test and submission processes
o Understanding and working knowledge of the game production process from concept through to Gold Master including QA.
